It includes a 1919 map of Coos County with all the logging railroads shown. Each locomotive that worked the woods and coal mines of Coos County is fully described.

There are many great photographs of old logging systems, people and animals. The photos are supported by a deep dive into the history of building the local railroads and how and when the Southern Pacific arrived in Coos Bay from Eugene and connected to its already existing line from Coos Bay to Myrtle Point.
