William A. “Bill” Lansing is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of the Menasha Forest Products Corporation, once headquartered in North Bend, Oregon. Bill grew up in a rural part of California and attended a small elementary school and was in the first four-year graduating class of the new Colfax High School. From there, he went on to receive college degrees from Sierra College, Humboldt State College and Yale University. He and his wife, Ann, moved to Coos Bay in 1969 and have made their home there ever since, raising two fine boys. Following a career of almost 40 years with Menasha and serving on many corporate boards, Bill retired in 2006 and launched a second career as a writer documenting the rich history of various parts of southwestern Oregon. That journey introduced him to numerous subjects and some very interesting men and women who lived some of that history.
